Applying a Layout is intended to reopen the required applications and position their windows in the saved workspace.

Overview

Rebuild a repeatable workspace without rearranging every window.

Multi-monitor work often depends on a repeated arrangement of applications, folders, browser pages, dashboards, editors, and supporting tools.

InstaDesk is designed to capture that arrangement as a Layout and rebuild it later by opening the required applications and positioning their windows on selected monitors and grid regions.

It combines workspace launching with window positioning, ad-hoc snapping, monitor-specific grid controls, and reusable workflow presets.

The Grid

Documented

Each monitor can use a selected grid density. Windows can be placed into defined grid regions, allowing different displays to use different workspace structures.

Documented grid options are 4 × 4, 6 × 6, 8 × 8, and 10 × 10.

Layouts

A Layout records which applications, folders, URLs, monitors, and grid regions belong to a reusable workspace.

Layouts may be constructed manually or created from the current desktop through Capture Current Layout.

Quick Presets

A Quick Preset groups multiple Layouts into a named workflow that can be applied as a larger workspace mode.
